Ruby P. White

Ruby P. White, 98, of Cincinnatus, NY, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at the Norwich Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Norwich, NY.

Ruby was born in German, NY, on June 19, 1920.  She has been a member of the Central Baptist Church of Greene and the German Baptist Church.  After graduating high school in Greene, she married Charles L. White on August 17, 1942.  Ruby and Charles lived and worked on their farm for over 40 years in German, where they raised seven children – Fredrick (Claudia) White, Beverly Farrow, Sharon Fox, Yvonne Brewer, Harry White, Lois Brown, and Kenneth (Patricia) White.  Ruby served as the Town of German Town Clerk for 20 years.  In 1984, Ruby and Charles moved to Cincinnatus where they enjoyed their retirement.  She was loved by family, neighbors and other friends and loved them in return.  Among her gifts were her excellent cooking, hospitality, accordion playing, card playing, and poetry.

Ruby was predeceased by her husband, Charles White; her sons, Fredrick White and Kenneth White; and sisters, Leoria Eggleston, Gladys Huntly, and Florence Bailey.

Funeral services will be held at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY, on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at 2:30 p.m. with her grandson, Reverend Andy White, officiating.  Burial will be in Cincinnatus Cemetery in the spring.  The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the start of the service at 2:30 p.m.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Ruby may be made to the German Baptist Church, c/o Cynthia Nogva, 195 County Route 5, McDonough, NY 13801 or the Cincinnatus Emergency Squad, c/o Elaine Oros, 5771 McFarlane Road, Cincinnatus, NY 13040.
