Scott W. Bartholomew, 71, of Pitcher, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 10, 2025.
Born on December 25, 1953, Scott was the son of the late Morris and Delia Locke Bartholomew. His life was marked by a deep love for the outdoors and a passion for nature, both of which he cherished throughout his years.
Scott was well-known for his dedication to his work, whether it was tending to his farm, cutting firewood, or skillfully making maple syrup. These activities were not merely jobs for him; they were expressions of his connection to the land and the community he loved. He found joy in simple pleasures and took pride in contributing to the local agricultural heritage.
He leaves behind a loving family, including his sisters Elva White of Pitcher, Sandra Calhoun of Taylor, and sister-in-law Virginia Bartholomew of Pitcher; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Scott was predeceased by his brother Oscar Bartholomew, Sr. and his brother-in-law Edwin "Sonny" Calhoun.
Memorial services for Scott will be held at the United Methodist Church of South Otselic on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Melanie Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Pitcher Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends at the church on that Monday from 12:00 noon until the start of the service at 1:00 p.m.
Scott will be remembered for his hard work, his connection to the outdoors, and the peaceful spirit he brought to all who knew him. His legacy will surely live on in the hearts of his family and the many lives he touched.
