Teresa M. Carlin

Teresa M. (Stone) Carlin, 79, of Greene, NY, and formerly of Cincinnatus, NY, passed away peacefully at her home, while surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, November 15, 2023.

Born in Cortland, NY, on April 20, 1944, Teresa was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Vera Reynolds Stone.  She was a member of the Berean Bible Church in Greene.  Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Smith-Corona and had also worked as a private duty home health aide.  Teresa and her late husband, Clifford, were excellent caregivers and raised numerous foster children.  She loved all Cincinnatus had to offer and was a proud supporter of the Cincinnatus School sports teams.  She was an avid Dallas Cowboy’s fan and if she had her way, she would have lived at the beach.

She is survived by her children, Robin (Andy) Clark of Kingsport, TN, Tamria (Roger Clarkson) Brown of Marietta, Wendy (Daniel) Custer of Cuyler, Shelley Scoville of Cortland, Shawn (Tabitha) Scoville of Cincinnatus, Scott (Jessica) Carlin of Kirkwood, Tina (Jashobanth) Mohanty of Fort Miller, SC, Becky (Adam) Brown of German, Misty (Noah Shephard) Summers of Oswego, and Shanieka Cathcart of Cortland.  She was Nana to 22 grandchildren; and Old Nana to 31 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.  She also leaves behind her brothers, William (Diane) Stone of McGraw, and Wayne (Sandra) Stone of Hollywood, FL; a brother-in-law, Dale Loomis of Cincinnatus; sisters-in-law, Debra (Jere Spathelf) Carlin, Christine Ross, and Teresa (Rod) Flood, all of Oxford; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Clifford Carlin, on July 14, 2023; a sister, Terena Loomis; brothers, Victor and Billy Stone; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Erma Carlin.

The family will be present to receive friends at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY, on Sunday, November 19, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor George Carruth officiating.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Teresa may be made to the Cincinnatus Emergency Squad, c/o Jeff Fox, P.O.
