William F. Cefalo, 78, of Cortland, NY, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2020, at his home, while surrounded by his family.
Born in Buffalo, NY, on March 4, 1941, Bill was the son of the late Daniel and Phylis DePasquale Cefalo. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1961 to 1963. He was a retired truck driver from Jim Smith Trucking, Auburn, and had previously been employed by Bethlehem Steel, Texaco, and Smith-Corona. Bill was a member of the Mustang Club of Central New York. He cherished his family and friends, and was especially fond of his cats.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Sturdevant Cefalo; and his children, Will (Stephanie) Cefalo of California, Leslie (Todd) Milton of Camillus, Michael (Katie) Cefalo of Rochester, Sarah (Brian) Brown of Cortland, and Jason Hall of Manassas, VA. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Horich of Baltimore, MD, and Linda Walters of The Villages, FL; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Jim Cefalo and Daniel Cefalo.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no funeral services. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Bill may be directed to Hospicare & Palliative Care Services, 11 Kennedy Parkway, Cortland, NY 13045.
