Bernard M. Larkin, Sr., 93, of Cincinnatus, NY, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2020, at Northwoods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Moravia, NY.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, on August 7, 1926, Bernie was the son of the late Edward and Alice Stack Larkin. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII where he was stationed in Europe. He was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Cortland and a former member of the Knights of Columbus, Elks Club, VFW, and American Legion. For over 20 years, he worked as a volunteer at the Cortland Country Music Park.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Wasko Larkin; his children, Timothy C. (Marie) Larkin of Ithaca, Bernard Larkin, Jr. of Williamsburg, VA, Stephen Larkin of Weeki Wachee, FL, Mary (Elbert) Bunkley of Homosassa, FL, and Michael J. (Amy) Larkin of Wesley Chapel, FL. He also leaves behind his stepchildren, Judy Henry of Cincinnatus, Bruce (Vanessa) Brobeck of New Jersey, George Brobeck of Homer, JoAnn (John) Zwier of New Jersey, James Keastead of New Jersey, and Mary Lou Wasko of Georgia; 20 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Theresa Larkin; brothers, Robert and Edward Larkin; and a sister, Frances Westervelt.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Cincinnatus, NY, on Wednesday, February 19, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. There will be no prior calling hours.
