John L. Hasenjager, 83, of Cincinnatus, NY, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2021, at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA.
John was born on February 20, 1937 in Ithaca, NY, the son of Robert and Gwen Hasenjager. For many years, he worked for the ASC at Cortland State University and retired from the State Department of Corrections, Pharsalia. John was a life member of the NYS Conservation Council, board member of the American Wildlife Conservation Foundation, and a former member of the Cincinnatus Planning Board.
He is survived by his life partner, Scott Banks of Cincinnatus; and three daughters, Heather (Jeff) Fairchild of Cortland, Kim Hasenjager of Locke, and Heidi Hasenjager of McGraw. He also leaves behind several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Marcia (Jack) Ruffing of Alabama; a sister-in-law, Marylou Hasenjager of Moravia; three nephews; one great-nephew; two great-nieces; and his former wife, Vera Hasenjager of E. Homer.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Bill Hasenjager.
